About Me

I'm Peter, a vet by profession and a photographer by enthusiasm. For more than twenty years I've had the privilege of working with pets and the people who love them. It's a job that's taught me to slow down, pay attention, and appreciate that every animal has its own personality. Looking back, I suspect that's what first drew me to photography too.

Although most of my photography is digital, I've found myself increasingly drawn back to film. There's something wonderfully satisfying about its slower pace and the sense of anticipation that comes with not seeing the result straight away. I enjoy experimenting with traditional black and white film, developing it using alternative processes such as Caffenol (yes, coffee really can develop film!), and occasionally embracing the wonderfully simple world of pinhole photography. None of it is about chasing perfection—it's about enjoying the process and rediscovering the joy of making photographs.

I'm no professional photographer, and this isn't a business. It's simply a place to share some of the photographs that have brought me joy over the years.. There are plenty more that never made it beyond the memory card—or the negatives.

When I'm not working or taking photographs, life revolves around family, church, long walks, and community. My wife is a local minister, and between us we enjoy discovering new places, meeting new people, and trying to convince our Labrador that not every puddle needs investigating.

Photography has given me another reason to get outside, explore new places, and notice the world a little more carefully. If these photographs encourage you to pause for a moment, enjoy the beauty of God's creation, and perhaps see something familiar with fresh eyes, then they've done exactly what I hoped they would.
